One Lift Serves Multiple Levels

In a conventional multi-level shuttle system, each aisle end requires a dedicated vertical lift — a significant capital and footprint cost. ที่ bus shuttle replaces these individual lifts with a single shared lift car (the "bus") that travels between all storage levels, carrying shuttle carriers up and down as needed. How the Bus Shuttle System Works

Task Issued by WCS

WCS receives a store or retrieve order, identifies the target level and aisle, then schedules the bus lift and a shuttle carrier to execute the task.

Carrier Boards the Bus

ที่ idle shuttle carrier drives onto the bus lift car at its current level. ที่ bus then travels vertically to the target storage level and the carrier exits onto that level's rail.

Carrier Executes Storage Task

Carrier travels along the assigned row, deposits or retrieves the tote, then returns to the bus pick-up point at the aisle end of that level.

Bus Returns to Ground I/O

Carrier re-boards the bus and is lowered to the I/O conveyor level, where the tote is transferred to outfeed conveyor for the pick station.

What is the throughput trade-off of using a bus vs dedicated lifts?+

For systems under 500 totes/hr, this is rarely a bottleneck because the WCS schedules tasks to spread bus demand across time. For systems over 500 totes/hr, dedicated per-aisle lifts are more appropriate. Bus shuttle is the right choice when throughput is moderate (100–500 totes/hr) and the capital saving on lift infrastructure is a priority.
Can an attic shuttle work in a low-ceiling existing warehouse?+
Attic shuttle systems are specifically designed for mezzanine-height installations as low as 4m deck height. ที่ carrier and racking can be engineered to fit within tight overhead constraints. ที่ pick station interface is at ground level via a short gravity or powered conveyor drop from the upper deck.
